The SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars basketball team scored 64 points and restricted the host Nash Central Bulldogs to 54 in the Cougars non-league victory on Friday.

The Cougars now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Lenoir for a non-league contest on Tuesday, December 12. SouthWest Edgecombe will battle a Hawks team coming off a 74-56 non-league loss to Greene Central (Snow Hill, NC). The Hawks record now stands at 2-4.

The Bulldogs (0-4) will now prepare for their contest against Southern Nash (Bailey, NC). The Firebirds come into the 2A/3A Big East contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Southern Nash was defeated by Hoggard (Wilmington, NC), 64-46, in a non-league contest.
