The Shepherd Pirates basketball team scored 36 points and held the visiting Groveton Indians to 25 in the Pirates non-league triumph on Friday.

The Pirates now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Onalaska for a 3A Region III District 23 contest on Friday, December 16.

The Indians (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against West Hardin (Saratoga, TX). The Oilers enter the non-league contest with a 3-7 record. In their last contest, West Hardin was defeated by Timpson (Timpson, TX), 59-31, in a non-league contest.
