Minden Whippets (Minden, NE) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Southern Valley Eagles (Oxford, NE), 46-39 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Minden upgrades its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Whippets host Ogallala (Ogallala, NE) to play the Indians in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 3. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 1-0. Ogallala won 60-27 in their recent non-league bout against Lexington (Lexington, NE)

Next up, the Eagles play the Elm Creek Buffaloes (Elm Creek, NE) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 2. Southern Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Buffaloes come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 53-30 non-league loss to Shelton (Shelton, NE).
