The Mallard Creek Mavericks basketball team scored 50 points and held the visiting Independence Patriots to 33 in the Mavericks non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Mavericks now sport a 2-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Robinson for a non-league contest on Friday, December 2. Mallard Creek will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 38-33 non-league loss to Northwest Cabarrus (Concord, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-2.

The Patriots (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against Hopewell (Huntersville, NC). The Titans enter the non-league contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Hopewell was outscored by Olympic (Charlotte, NC), 35-34, in a non-league contest.
