The Ellsworth Bearcats basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Lyons Lions to 31 in the Bearcats non-league triumph on Friday.

The Bearcats now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Beloit for a North Central AA contest on Friday, December 15.

The Lions (0-1) will now prepare for their contest against Inman (Inman, KS). The Inman Teutons enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Inman triumphed over Minneapolis (Minneapolis, KS), 37-27, in a non-league contest.
