Mart Panthers (Mart, TX) backers were in high spirits Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Granger Lions (Granger, TX), 42-33 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mart upgrades its record to 7-7 on the season. The Panthers travel to Marlin (Marlin, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region III District 18 bout on Friday, December 15. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 9-1. Marlin won 52-32 in their recent non-league bout against Maypearl (Maypearl, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Hearne Eagles (Hearne, TX) in a 2A Region IV District 27 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Granger will attempt to upgrade on its 3-13 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 2-13 record after their 47-22 non-league loss to Lexington (Lexington, TX).
