Texas High School Basketball - Lovejoy can't hold off Melissa

The Melissa Cardinals basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the host Lovejoy Leopards to 42 in the Cardinals league victory on Tuesday.

The Cardinals now sport a 8-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Van Alstyne for a non-league contest on Friday, December 16. Melissa will battle a Panthers team coming off a 65-54 non-league loss to Sanger (Sanger, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 11-6.

The Leopards (9-9) will now prepare for their contest against Greenville (Greenville, TX). The Lions come into the 5A Region II District 13 contest with a 2-16 record. In their last contest, Greenville was nudged by McKinney North (McKinney, TX), 52-31, in a league contest.
