The Union Area Scotties (New Castle, PA) basketball crushed the visiting Laurel Spartans (New Castle, PA), 53-25 in Friday's league bout.

The Scotties now possess a 6-0 record. They play next when they travel to Western Beaver for a WPIAL 2A 4 bout on Tuesday, December 17. Union Area will play a Golden Beavers team coming off a 63-55 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Golden Beavers record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Laurel falls to 3-3 on the year. The Spartans travel to West Middlesex (West Middlesex, PA) to face the Big Reds in a non-league match on Saturday, December 14.
