Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) fans went home pleased Friday as they observed their basketball team edge the visiting Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX), 61-58 in a league challenge.

The Rattlers (15-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX). The Huskies come into the 5A Region IV District 30 challenge with a 0-10 record.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Tuesday, December 17. Martin will attempt to improve on its 3-11 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 14-9 record after their 96-33 league win over Mission Veterans Memorial (Mission, TX).
