The Veterans Memorial Patriots (San Antonio, TX) basketball edged the visiting New Braunfels Unicorns (New Braunfels, TX), 46-39 in Friday's league bout.

The Patriots now possess a 9-7 record. They play next when they travel to Wagner for a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, December 17. Veterans Memorial will play a Thunderbirds team coming off a 73-48 league win over Tivy (Kerrville, TX). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 12-4.

With the loss, New Braunfels falls to 12-10 on the campaign. The Unicorns host Smithson Valley (Spring Branch, TX) to play the Rangers in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Tuesday, December 17. The Rangers go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Smithson Valley lost 60-59 in their recent league bout against Pieper (San Antonio, TX)
