The Lamar Vikings (Arlington, TX) basketball edged the visiting Bowie Volunteers (Arlington, TX), 54-49 in Friday's league bout.

The Vikings now possess a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to Grand Prairie for a 6A Region I District 8 bout on Tuesday, December 17. Lamar will play a Gophers team coming off a 42-24 league loss to Arlington (Arlington, TX). The Gophers record now stands at 0-13.

With the loss, Bowie falls to 5-11 on the campaign. The Volunteers travel to South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX) to play the Warriors in a 6A Region I District 8 bout on Tuesday, December 17. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 11-6. South Grand Prairie won 82-20 in their recent league bout against Haltom (Haltom City, TX)
