In Thursday's non-league match, the visiting Falls Lake Firebirds basketball team scored a decisive 62-38 triumph over the Vance County Vipers.

In their next game, the Firebirds face the Oxford Prep Griffins (Oxford, NC) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, January 4. Falls Lake will attempt to move on its 11-0 season record.

With the defeat, Vance County moves to 1-4 on the year. The Vipers travel to Person (Roxboro, NC) to face the Rockets in a non-league match on Friday, December 16. The Rockets enter the match with a record of 0-6. Person lost 50-27 in their recent league match against Cedar Ridge (Hillsborough, NC)
