Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC), 79-9 in a league bout.

With the win, Cherokee upgrades its record to 6-1 on the season. The Braves travel to Hayesville (Hayesville, NC) to clash with the Yellowjackets in a 1A Smoky Mountain bout on Tuesday, December 19. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 5-2. Hayesville won 43-29 in their recent league bout against Swain County (Bryson City, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats clash with the Robbinsville Black Knights (Robbinsville, NC) in a 1A Smoky Mountain bout, on Tuesday, December 19. Andrews will attempt to upgrade on its 4-2 season record. The Black Knights go into the bout with a 5-0 record after their 63-45 league win over Murphy (Murphy, NC).
