Georgia High School Basketball - Portal nips Claxton

December 17, 2024: Portal, GA 30450

In Tuesday's league contest, the host Portal Panthers basketball team scored a close 70-67 triumph over the Claxton Tigers.

The Panthers (5-3) will now prepare for their contest against Statesboro (Statesboro, GA). The Blue Devils go into the non-league contest with a 6-1 record. In their last contest, Statesboro nipped Effingham County (Springfield, GA), 49-33, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Tigers battle the Appling County Pirates (Baxley, GA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, December 20. Claxton will attempt to better on its 3-4 season record. The Pirates go into the contest with a 3-7 record after their 60-58 non-league win over Telfair County (McRae, GA).
