Helix Highlanders (La Mesa, CA) supporters left the game satisfied Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the visiting Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets (Blythe, CA), 30-18 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Helix advances its record to 5-3 on the year. The Highlanders travel to Calexico (Calexico, CA) to face the Bulldogs in a non-league match on Thursday, December 19. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 2-4. Calexico lost 47-45 in their recent non-league match against La Jolla (La Jolla, CA)

The Yellow Jackets now own a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Otay Ranch for a non-league match on Friday, December 20. Palo Verde Valley will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 56-17 non-league win over Academy of Our Lady of Peace (San Diego, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 9-2.
