The Portage Central Mustangs (Portage, MI) basketball were winner over the visiting Harper Creek Beavers (Battle Creek, MI), 54-36 in Tuesday's non-league contest.

The Mustangs now sport a 5-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Joseph for a Southwestern Michigan - West contest on Thursday, December 21. Portage Central will meet a Bears team coming off a 62-25 non-league loss to Otsego (Otsego, MI). The Bears record now stands at 1-3.

The Beavers (1-3) will now prepare for their contest against Hastings (Hastings, MI). The Saxons enter the Interstate 8 contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Hastings was outscored by Ionia (Ionia, MI), 49-37, in a non-league contest.
