Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host East Wilkes Cardinals (Ronda, NC), 55-45 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wilkes Central upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Eagles host Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC) to play the Huskies in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 6. The Huskies come into the bout with a record of 3-2. Ashe County won 65-57 in their recent non-league bout against West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC)

Next up, the Cardinals play the North Wilkes Vikings (Hays, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 6. East Wilkes will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 78-48 league loss to North Surry (Mount Airy, NC).
