Iowa High School Basketball - Akron-Westfield ripped by St. Mary's
December 2, 2022: Remsen, IA 51050 The St. Mary's Hawks basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting Akron-Westfield Westerners to 27 in the Hawks league triumph on Friday.
The Hawks now sport a 3-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host South O'Brien for a War Eagle contest on Tuesday, December 6. St. Mary's will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 64-40 non-league loss to Sheldon (Sheldon, IA). The Wolverines record now stands at 0-4.
The Westerners (0-2) will now prepare for their contest against Gehlen Catholic (Le Mars, IA). The Jays enter the War Eagle contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Gehlen Catholic triumphed over Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn/Remsen-Union (Marcus, IA), 51-42, in a non-league contest.
