Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Ashe County Huskies (West Jefferson, NC) and the visiting West Wilkes Blackhawks (Millers Creek, NC), saw Ashe County's basketball squad wallop West Wilkes by a tally of 71-29.

With the victory, Ashe County improves its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Huskies travel to Wilkes Central (Wilkesboro, NC) to encounter the Eagles in a non-league test on Tuesday, December 6.
