Game Summary
Our shutout offense began in the 11th m. with Kalei's free kick that sailed just wide. Several on-frame attempts were all stopped, but Aliyah got us on the board in the 30th m. when she took Gabrielle's pass to dribbl in close and push the orb past the keeper. A minute later Juliana made a perfect pass to a wide-open Audrey in front, but the ball's self-steering mechanism let her down as it rolled wide of the net. That darn mechanism also failed Kalei just before the half when her unfettered shot went awry, and again for Audrey, whose header off Kalei's free kick missed the mark. Our 1-0 lead at the half was tripled in the second frame. Sixteen m. in, Za'Nyah corralled their keeper's kick and blasted it into the lower right for a 2-0 lead. Five m. later Aliyah got her second goal--and Player of the Game--on a feed from Za'Nyah. Our back line held them to 3 shots, all on goal, which Ava put to rest. We had a god night offensively, amassing 18 shots/10 goal.
