Game Summary
In this otherwise evenly-matched contest, EmmaW's corner kick was all we needed to come out winners. The beautifully-curving booted ball struck home in the 8th minute—and pay no attention to anyone who suggests that it might have been “assisted” by one of their own players: it was on a beeline to the far corner, and the goal was all Emma's, and worthy of Player of the Game! Ava's diving stop of a shot with 7 minutes left in the first kept them at nil, and Ava Rose's 1-v-1 with the keeper was oh-so-close as it glanced off the left post in the 39th minute. We managed just one additional attempt in the last half, and finished with 5 shots/2 on goal, while they had 9 attempts with 6 on goal, all saved by Ava. Nice to finally grab our first victory of the season...
