In Friday's non-league contest, the host Tri-Unity Christian Defenders basketball team scored a good 64-50 win over the Calvin Christian Squires.

The Defenders (4-1) will now prepare for their contest against East Grand Rapids (Grand Rapids, MI). The Pioneers come into the non-league contest with a 1-5 record. In their last contest, East Grand Rapids was topped by Zeeland East (Zeeland, MI), 75-6, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Squires battle the Kelloggsville Rockets (Wyoming, MI) in a Ottawa-Kent - Silver contest, on Friday, January 3. Calvin Christian will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record.
