West Virginia High School Basketball - Winfield holds off Charleston Catholic
December 20, 2024: Winfield, WV 25213 The Winfield Generals basketball team scored 48 points and limited the visiting Charleston Catholic Irish to 41 in the Generals non-league triumph on Friday.
The Generals now have a 3-0 record. They play next when they travel to Lewis County for a non-league game on Saturday, December 21. Winfield will confront a Minutemen team coming off a 49-46 league win over Philip Barbour (Philippi, WV). The Minutemen record now stands at 1-2.
With the loss, Charleston Catholic falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Irish travel to Sissonville (Charleston, WV) to confront the Indians in a non-league game on Saturday, December 21. The Indians go into the game with a record of 0-3. Sissonville lost 81-55 in their recent league game against Wayne (Wayne, WV)
