The Mitchell Mustangs (New Port Richey, FL) basketball edged the host Springstead Eagles (Spring Hill, FL), 51-47 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Mustangs now possess a 4-5 record. They play next when they host Anclote for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 7. Mitchell will play a Sharks team coming off a 76-53 non-league win over Wakulla (Crawfordville, FL). The Sharks record now stands at 4-7.
