Virginia High School Basketball - New Covenant can't hold off Grace Christian

Grace Christian Warriors (Staunton, VA) boosters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA), 39-37 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Grace Christian upgrades its record to 6-2 on the year. The Warriors host Roanoke Catholic (Roanoke, VA) to face the Celtics in a non-league match on Thursday, January 9. The Celtics enter the match with a record of 3-4.

The Gryphons now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to North Cross for a VISAA Blue Ridge match on Tuesday, January 7. New Covenant will face a Raiders squad coming off a 47-20 non-league loss to Blue Ridge Christian (Bridgewater, VA). The Raiders record now stands at 1-8.
