Portage Indians (Portage, IN) supporters left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting La Porte Slicers (La Porte, IN), 38-35 in a league match.

With the victory, Portage advances its record to 6-7 on the year. The Indians travel to New Prairie (New Carlisle, IN) to meet the Cougars in a non-league match on Friday, December 27. The Cougars enter the match with a record of 2-11. New Prairie lost 51-40 in their recent league match against South Bend Riley (South Bend, IN)

The Slicers now own a 0-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to South Bend Adams for a non-league match on Saturday, December 21. La Porte will meet a Eagles squad coming off a 76-35 league loss to Penn (Mishawaka, IN). The Eagles record now stands at 3-6.
