Texas High School Basketball - Vela overwhelms McAllen

The Vela Sabercats basketball team scored 60 points and limited the host McAllen Bulldogs to 31 in the Sabercats league triumph on Friday.

The Sabercats now possess a 17-6 record. They play next when they host Sharyland for a 5A Region IV District 31 game on Saturday, December 28. Vela will confront a Rattlers team coming off a 47-33 league loss to Pioneer (Mission, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 14-8.

In their next game, the Bulldogs battle the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial Wolverines (Alamo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 31 contest, on Saturday, December 28. McAllen will attempt to better on its 14-10 season record. The Wolverines come into the contest with a 0-10 record after their 66-15 league loss to McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX).
