Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX) supporters left the game satisfied Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host McAllen Memorial Mustangs (McAllen, TX), 48-42 in a league match.

With the victory, Vela advances its record to 22-8 on the year. The Sabercats host McAllen (McAllen, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 5A Region IV District 31 match on Friday, January 24. The Bulldogs enter the match with a record of 17-14. McAllen lost 48-24 in their recent league match against Pioneer (Mission, TX)

The Mustangs now own a 23-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial for a 5A Region IV District 31 match on Friday, January 24.
