The Veterans Memorial Chargers basketball team scored 29 points and limited the host Vela Sabercats to 24 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Friday.

The Chargers now have a 5-0 record. They play next when they travel to Weslaco for a non-league game on Saturday, November 9. Veterans Memorial will confront a Panthers team coming off a 50-20 non-league win over Rivera (Brownsville, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 2-1.

With the loss, Vela falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Sabercats travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo North (Pharr, TX) to confront the Raiders in a non-league game on Saturday, November 9.
