Newton Local Indians (Pleasant Hill, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Dixie Greyhounds (New Lebanon, OH), 52-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Newton Local upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Indians travel to Ansonia (Ansonia, OH) to clash with the Tigers in a Western Ohio bout on Friday, January 7. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Ansonia lost 44-39 in their recent non-league bout against Fort Recovery (Fort Recovery, OH)

Next up, the Greyhounds clash with the New Miami Vikings (Hamilton, OH) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 23. Dixie will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 0-8 record after their 78-67 non-league loss to Miami Valley Christian Academy (Cincinnati, OH).
