Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the host Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC), saw McDowell's basketball squad knock off Asheville by a count of 68-54.

With the victory, McDowell upgrades its record to 2-5 on the campaign. The Titans host East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 29. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 0-8. East Burke lost 57-37 in their recent league challenge against Bandys (Catawba, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the North Henderson Knights (Hendersonville, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 28. Asheville will attempt to upgrade on its 0-7 season record. The Knights come into the challenge with a 6-4 record after their 81-57 league win over Tuscola (Waynesville, NC).
