December 26, 2023: Opelousas, LA 70525 Frederick A. Douglass Bobcats (New Orleans, LA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Opelousas Tigers (Opelousas, LA), 40-37 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Frederick A. Douglass upgrades its record to 7-9 on the campaign. The Bobcats travel to L.W. Higgins (Marrero, LA) to play the Hurricanes in a non-league bout on Friday, January 5. The Hurricanes come into the bout with a record of 0-7.
Next up, the Tigers play the Breaux Bridge Tigers (Breaux Bridge, LA) in a 4A District 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 9. Opelousas will attempt to upgrade on its 7-6 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 4-9 record after their 48-29 non-league loss to New Iberia (New Iberia, LA).
