In Thursday's non-league contest, the host John Paul II Golden Warrriors basketball team scored a close 32-29 triumph over the May River Sharks .

The Golden Warrriors (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against Bluffton (Bluffton, SC). The Bobcats go into the non-league contest with a 5-4 record. In their last contest, Bluffton nipped Ridgeland (Ridgeland, SC), 44-21, in a non-league contest.
