The Foard Tigers basketball squad (Newton, NC), was outscored 61-49 in Friday's non-league battle with the host Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC)

With the victory, Alexander Central advances its record to 8-2 on the year. The Cougars travel to Maiden (Maiden, NC) to meet the Blue Devils in a non-league battle on Saturday, December 28. The Blue Devils enter the battle with a record of 9-1. Maiden won 59-43 in their recent non-league battle against Hickory (Hickory, NC)

The Tigers now own a 4-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Iredell for a 3A Western Foothills battle on Friday, January 3. Foard will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 46-22 league loss to St. Stephens (Hickory, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 1-7.
