Illinois High School Basketball - Fulton knocked off by Mercer County
December 28, 2023: Aledo, IL 61231 The Mercer County Golden Eagles basketball team scored 57 points and held the visiting Fulton Steamers to 47 in the Golden Eagles non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Golden Eagles now sport a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kewanee for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Mercer County will battle a Boilermakers team coming off a 75-74 non-league win over Orion (Orion, IL). The Boilermakers record now stands at 8-4.
The Steamers (7-3) will now prepare for their contest against Morrison (Morrison, IL). The Mustangs enter the non-league contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, Morrison ran past Forreston (Forreston, IL), 69-49, in a non-league contest.
