The Jefferson County Tigers basketball team scored 63 points and held the host South Delta Bulldogs to 61 in the Tigers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Tigers now sport a 4-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Andrew's Episcopal for a non-league contest on Friday, December 29. Jefferson County will meet a Saints team coming off a 54-43 non-league loss to Velma Jackson (Camden, MS). The Saints record now stands at 1-8.

The Bulldogs (7-5) will now prepare for their contest against West Tallahatchie (Webb, MS). The Choctaws enter the 1A Region 5 contest with a 7-5 record. In their last contest, West Tallahatchie was nudged by Coahoma County (Clarksdale, MS), 39-29, in a non-league contest.
