Texas High School Basketball - Como-Pickton thwarts Union Grove
December 28, 2024: Como, TX 75431 The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Como-Pickton Eagles (Como, TX) and the visiting Union Grove Lions (Gladewater, TX), observed Como-Pickton's basketball team knock off Union Grove by a score of 28-18.
The Eagles (11-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Cumby (Cumby, TX). The Trojans come into the 2A Region II District 15 challenge with a 9-7 record. In their last challenge, Cumby prevailed over Trinity Christian Academy (Paris, TX), 28-18, in a non-league challenge.
In their next game, the Lions encounter the West Rusk Raiders (New London, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, December 30. Union Grove will attempt to improve on its 10-10 season record. The Raiders come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 48-46 league loss to Gladewater (Gladewater, TX).
