Amherst Broncos (Amherst, NE) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Kearney Catholic Stars (Kearney, NE), 58-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Amherst upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Broncos host York (York, NE) to play the Dukes in a non-league bout on Friday, December 30. The Dukes go into the bout with a record of 5-1. York won 44-34 in their recent non-league bout against St. Cecilia (Hastings, NE)

Next up, the Stars play the St. Cecilia Bluehawks (Hastings, NE) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Kearney Catholic will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Bluehawks go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 44-34 non-league loss to York (York, NE).
