Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sharon Tigers (Sharon, PA), 59-56 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mercyhurst Prep upgrades its record to 3-5 on the season. The Lakers travel to Northwestern (Albion, PA) to play the Wildcats in a District 10 Region 3 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 0-3. Northwestern lost 66-31 in their recent non-league bout against General McLane (Edinboro, PA)

Next up, the Tigers play the Slippery Rock Rockets (Slippery Rock, PA) in a District 10 Region 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Sharon will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record.
