Texas High School Basketball - Union Grove ripped by Overton

The Overton Mustangs basketball team scored 58 points and held the visiting Union Grove Lions to 24 in the Mustangs non-league triumph on Friday.

The Mustangs now sport a 14-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alto for a 2A Region III District 22 contest on Tuesday, January 2. Overton will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 70-38 non-league loss to Malakoff (Malakoff, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 14-5.

The Lions (8-10) will now prepare for their contest against Ore City (Ore City, TX). The Rebels enter the 2A Region III District 21 contest with a 5-10 record. In their last contest, Ore City triumphed over Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX), 65-18, in a non-league contest.
