Maine High School Basketball - Gorham nips Sanford
December 29, 2023: Gorham, ME 04038 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Gorham Rams (Gorham, ME) and the visiting Sanford Spartans (Sanford, ME), saw Gorham's basketball squad hold off Sanford by a tally of 48-41.
With the victory, Gorham improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Rams host Thornton Academy (Saco, ME) to play the Trojans in a AA South challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 6-0. Thornton Academy won 47-45 in their recent non-league challenge against Windham (Windham, ME)
Next up, the Spartans play the Bonny Eagle Scots (Standish, ME) in a AA South challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Sanford will attempt to improve on its 4-2 season record. The Scots come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 37-30 league win over Massabesic (Waterboro, ME).
