Bigelow Panthers (Bigelow, AR) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mountain Pine Red Devils (Mountain Pine, AR), 40-39 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bigelow upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Panthers host St. Joseph (Conway, AR) to play the Bulldogs in a 2A Region 5 bout on Friday, December 9. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 4-2.

Next up, the Red Devils play the Malvern Leopards (Malvern, AR) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 14. Mountain Pine will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
