Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Lightridge Bolts (Aldie, VA) and the host Independence (Ashburn, VA), saw Lightridge's basketball squad hold off Independence by a count of 53-49.

With the victory, Lightridge upgrades its record to 3-7 on the campaign. The Bolts host Loudoun Valley (Purcellville, VA) to play the Vikings in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 2. The Vikings come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Loudoun Valley won 60-56 in their recent non-league challenge against North Oconee (Bogart, GA)

Next up, the play the Woodgrove Wolverines (Purcellville, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Independence will attempt to upgrade on its 4-4 season record. The Wolverines come into the challenge with a 6-2 record after their 81-79 league loss to Flint Hill (Oakton, VA).
