Rural Retreat Indians (Rural Retreat, VA) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Marion Scarlet Hurricanes (Marion, VA), 52-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Rural Retreat upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Indians travel to Fort Chiswell (Max Meadows, VA) to play the Pioneers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 5. The Pioneers go into the bout with a record of 2-0. Fort Chiswell won 60-44 in their recent league bout against Auburn (Riner, VA)

Next up, the Scarlet Hurricanes play the Chilhowie Warriors (Chilhowie, VA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 8. Marion will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 0-3 record after their 61-53 non-league loss to Mountain Mission (Grundy, VA).
