In Friday's non-league contest, the host Adams Central Patriots basketball team scored a close 54-52 triumph over the York Dukes.

The Patriots (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Wood River (Wood River, NE). The Eagles go into the C1 District 9 contest with a 1-1 record. In their last contest, Wood River nipped Centura (Cairo, NE), 42-38, in a league match.

The Dukes now sport a 0-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Waverly for a non-league match on Thursday, December 11.
