The Ashley Screaming Eagle basketball team (Wilmington, NC), was nudged 46-43 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC)

The Bears now possess a 4-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Craven for a non-league battle on Friday, December 8. New Bern will confront a Eagles team coming off a 47-39 non-league win over Havelock (Havelock, NC). The Eagles record now stands at 3-0.

The Screaming Eagle (1-3) will now prepare for their battle against Cardinal Gibbons (Raleigh, NC). The Crusaders come into the non-league battle with a 4-0 record. In their last battle, Cardinal Gibbons edged Ravenscroft (Raleigh, NC), 63-52, in a non-league battle.
