The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Garinger Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) and the host West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC), observed Garinger's basketball team knock off West Mecklenburg by a score of 68-58.

The Wildcats (1-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Butler (Matthews, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 4A Southwestern challenge with a 4-1 record.

In their next game, the Hawks encounter the Cuthbertson Cavaliers (Waxhaw, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 10. West Mecklenburg will attempt to improve on its 0-5 season record. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a 3-1 record after their 60-58 non-league win over Forestview (Gastonia, NC).
