Texas High School Basketball - Taft triumphant over John Paul II
December 6, 2024: Taft, TX 78390 The crowd at Friday's non-league challenge between the Taft Greyhounds (Taft, TX) and the visiting John Paul II Centurions (Corpus Christi, TX), observed Taft's basketball team overwhelm John Paul II by a score of 69-39.
The Greyhounds (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Port Aransas (Port Aransas, TX). The Marlins come into the non-league challenge with a 8-3 record. In their last challenge, Port Aransas trounced Sinton (Sinton, TX), 62-26, in a non-league challenge.
With the loss, John Paul II falls to 2-9 on the campaign. The Centurions travel to New Braunfels Christian Academy (New Braunfels, TX) to play the Wildcats in a TAPPS 4A District 5 bout on Tuesday, December 10. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 7-9. New Braunfels Christian Academy lost 68-55 in their recent non-league bout against Bishop (Bishop, TX)
