December 6, 2024: Laurel, MS 39443 West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS), 39-33 in a non-league match.
With the victory, West Jones advances its record to 7-2 on the year. The Mustangs host Jim Hill (Jackson, MS) to face the Tigers in a 6A Region 3 match on Tuesday, December 10. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 7-1. Jim Hill won 51-38 in their recent non-league match against Provine (Jackson, MS)
The Wildcats now own a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McGill-Toolen for a non-league match on Saturday, December 7. Meridian will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 46-41 non-league loss to Davidson (Mobile, AL). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 6-4.
