Arkansas High School Basketball - Izard County overwhelms Highland
December 7, 2023: Hardy, AR 72542 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR) and the host Highland Rebels (Hardy, AR), saw Izard County's basketball squad wallop Highland by a tally of 64-37.
With the victory, Izard County improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Mt. Vernon-Enola (Mt. Vernon, AR) to confront the Warhawks in a 2A Region 2 challenge on Friday, December 8. The Warhawks come into the challenge with a record of 14-3. Mt. Vernon-Enola won 68-56 in their recent league challenge against White County Central (Judsonia, AR)
Next up, the Rebels confront the Wynne Yellowjackets (Wynne, AR) in a 4A Region 3 challenge, on Monday, December 11. Highland will attempt to improve on its 5-2 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 0-6 record after their 71-46 league loss to Westside (Jonesboro, AR).
